Registered Nurse Resume TemplatesBeing a Registered Nurse is a big challenge, also bringing a huge amount of responsibilities with it. Being part of the health care system is both a privilege and a matter of being responsible enough to take care of patients' needs. A Registered Nurse is a person who must be aware of human psychology and of patient communication before starting to provide health assistance.
Being a Registered Nurse means having great communication skills and the ability to interact with different kinds of people and situations. When working as a Registered Nurse, one needs to have in mind that things are not always easy but they are always rewarding when patients go home healthy and diseases are cured. Registered Nurses need to be responsible during the entire nursing process, be it for adult care or for pediatric care. They need to be micro-managers, able to organize both staff and patients, being able to prioritize and to identify needs and to suggest the best care possible.
A Registered Nurse must be able to see immediate and long term goals when it comes to patient's needs and must also provide a detailed care plan for each and every patient that she sees. Administrative tasks are also part of the job description of a Registered Nurse; a nurse needs to fill in patient information, patient files and reports and also organize other medical staff. Registered Nurses need to closely cooperate both with doctors and other medical staff and with patient's families in order to make the best decisions regarding treatment, operations and pre - and post-operation care.
The more practical tasks of a registered nurse are closely connected to patients. They need to observe, assess and record the symptoms and the progress of patients' illnesses and indicate the appropriate treatment, as recommended by the doctor. Registered Nurses also need to assist the physician during examination of patients and during treatment; they must assist them with administrative tasks also. Nurses need to create nursing care plans.
A Registered Nurse needs to be able to administer medication and to assist patients with whatever it is needed during convalescence and while hospitalized. Moreover, Registered Nurses need to teach patients about their condition and also about their treatment, and make sure that their families know about these details just as well. There may also be group therapy sessions where Nurses must be present and offer their support to other medical personnel. A Registered Nurse needs to support patients' rights and be able to understand the patients' needs and worries. They must be able to assure the patients about medical efforts being done about their condition and their attitude must be positive and energetic.
Patient's psychology is extremely important and Registered Nurses need to be able to maintain a positive atmosphere that helps patients feel better. The nurse has to keep a clear, critical mind and be able to asses the important medical care needed. Moreover, Registered Nurses have to make sure that patient rights are being respected, as well as patient dignity and well being. Giving medical support does not only mean giving medication and dealing with physical pain; nurses have to be trained and to have human psychology knowledge so that they can deal with more difficult patients or with more difficult diseases. The attitude of the nurse should be firm and assuring, and the nurse must share any kind of concern with the physician. Nurses have this unique ability to bond with patients and this quality has to be emphasized in a resume. Check this link for a sample registered nurse resume.
